“Improving employability requires a deep understanding of the number and type of jobs produced,” said Deepa Sarojammal, CEO, Reflections, delivering a special address on how the IT industry is contributing to enhancing employability and skilling at the inaugural session of the International Conclave on Skills, Engineering, and Technology (ICSET) 2024, a forum for the academia and industry, organized by The ICT Academy of Kerala, on the theme ‘The Quantum Leap: AI & Beyond,’ on September 25, 2024, in Thiruvananthapuram.
She highlighted the faster pace of technology change that is much faster than our ability to develop people skills, leaving a significant deficit at any given time, as the biggest challenge facing the industry. Deepa emphasized the need for an agile and smart workforce and self-sustaining teams that can manage themselves, can take their own decisions, and can build their own solutions.
