Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with deep technical expertise to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards that drive insights from high-volume, event-driven data. In this role, you will be tackling complex analytics for platforms that generate massive amounts of user-action events (scaling to thousands of concurrent operators in large enterprise environments). The ideal candidate must possess end-to-end Power BI capabilities, moving beyond standard visual creation to robust data modeling, advanced DAX, and full-stack troubleshooting to translate complex operator data into actionable business intelligence.
Responsibilities include:
- Event-Driven Analytics: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards focused on large-scale event analytics and operator activity tracking.
- Full-Stack Ownership: Independently diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and data issues across the entire Power BI stack (data ingestion, M language, DAX, and visual rendering).
- Requirement Translation: Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp complex business challenges and translate ambiguous requirements into clear, scalable analytical solutions.
- Advanced Calculation: Develop and optimize complex DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and calculated columns optimized for high-frequency data.
- Data Modeling: Build efficient, highly optimized data models using star and snowflake schemas tailored to handle heavy event-log datasets.
- ETL Management: Create and maintain robust ETL workflows using Power Query (M Language).
- Data Integration: Integrate Power BI with SQL Server, Azure, APIs, and other enterprise data sources.
- Security Implementation: Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to securely manage data access across different user tiers and operational teams.
- Maintenance: Schedule dataset refreshes and proactively troubleshoot refresh failures in large enterprise datasets.
- Documentation: Prepare clear documentation for reports, data models, and dashboards.
Primary Skills :
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development.
- Technical Depth: Demonstrated end-to-end Power BI expertise — advanced DAX, robust data modelling (star schema, relationships, performance tuning), and Power Query/M — with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve issues across the stack rather than only building visuals.
- Business Comprehension & Communication: Proven ability to grasp customer business challenges, translate ambiguous requirements into analytical solutions, and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High-Volume Data Experience: Proven experience reporting on large-scale telemetry, user-activity logs, or operator action events in enterprise environments.
- Database Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure SQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
- Optimization: Deep knowledge of report optimization, query folding, and performance tuning for large datasets.
- Security: Hands-on experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
